Coaching Agreement
1. Coaching Relationship
Coaching is a collaborative process designed to support personal insight, clarity, and growth. Coaching sessions provide a space to explore goals, perspectives, and possibilities so that you can move forward in ways that feel aligned with your values and intentions.
The role of the coach is to listen deeply, ask thoughtful questions, and support your self-discovery. The client remains the expert in their own life and is responsible for their choices, decisions, and actions throughout the coaching process.
2. Coach Commitment
As your coach, I commit to providing a supportive, respectful, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your goals, challenges, and personal growth.
I will listen with care, ask thoughtful questions, and support you in gaining clarity and moving forward in ways that align with your values.
3. Client Responsibility
Coaching works best when clients engage with curiosity, honesty, and a willingness to explore new perspectives.
The client understands that coaching is an active process and that meaningful change depends on their level of engagement and commitment.
Any decisions, actions, or outcomes that arise from coaching are ultimately the responsibility of the client.
4. Coaching Is Not Therapy or Professional Advice
Coaching is not a substitute for therapy, counselling, psychological care, medical advice, legal advice, financial advice, or other licensed professional services.
The coach does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions.
If the client is currently working with a therapist or other professional, it is recommended that they inform that professional of their participation in coaching.
The client agrees to seek appropriate professional support where needed.
5. Confidentiality
All information shared during coaching sessions will be treated as confidential by the coach.
Information will not be shared with third parties without the client’s consent, except where disclosure is required by law or where there is a risk of serious harm to the client or others.
6. Professional Standards
The coach is committed to maintaining professional and ethical coaching standards.
As a member of the International Coach Guild, the coach adheres to the Guild’s Code of Ethics and professional practice guidelines. These standards include integrity, confidentiality, professionalism, and maintaining appropriate boundaries in the coaching relationship.
A copy of the Code of Ethics is available on the coach’s website.
7. Session Structure
Coaching sessions typically last approximately 60 minutes and may take place via:
• online video call (such as Zoom)
• phone
• or another mutually agreed format.
Sessions will occur at a time agreed upon by both coach and client.
8. Scheduling and Cancellations
If the client needs to reschedule a session, at least 24 hours notice is requested.
Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice may be forfeited or charged in full unless otherwise agreed.
If the coach needs to reschedule a session, reasonable notice will be provided and an alternative time will be arranged.
9. Payment
Coaching fees will be agreed upon prior to the commencement of services.
Payment is due prior to the scheduled session or according to the agreed payment arrangement.
Unless otherwise stated, coaching fees are non-refundable except where required under Australian consumer law.
10. Communication Between Sessions
Reasonable email communication between sessions is welcome for brief updates or reflections.
The coach will aim to respond within 1–2 business days.
Between-session communication is not intended to replace scheduled coaching sessions.
11. Intellectual Property
Any worksheets, tools, frameworks, exercises, or written resources shared during coaching remain the intellectual property of the coach.
These materials are provided for personal use only and may not be reproduced, distributed, or shared without written permission.
12. Ending the Coaching Relationship
Either the coach or the client may end the coaching relationship at any time with written notice.
Any outstanding payments for completed sessions remain payable.
13. Right Fit
Coaching is most effective when both the coach and client feel the relationship is a good fit.
If at any point either party feels that another form of support would better serve the client, we agree to communicate openly and respectfully.
14. Results Disclaimer
Coaching is intended to support growth, insight, and positive change. However, results will vary for each individual.
No specific outcomes or results are guaranteed.
